Two Lilies Designs - The beginning of a new journey

It was just a few months ago that I decided I needed a change in life. After over 10 years in the Hi-Tech  industry as a QA Team Leader I decided I wanted to turn to a more fulfilling vocation. I always had a warm place in my heart for handcrafted jewelry and did it as a side hobby. When I felt this tingle in my hands calling me again, it only seemed natural to try and put my ideas to work.

Setting up the shop

I started working with training materials and watching YouTube clips to improve on and learn new skills. At some point I decided to start my own online shop. There are quite a few choices out there but after looking around the internet I decided to start my journey on Etsy. Not that the other choices where not good enough. I just felt it was a good place to start.

When setting up an online shop there are so many things one never thinks about until one is sitting in front of an online form and needs to fill in return policies, shipping times and payment methods. You see, it takes more than a month of preparations, depending on your local bureaucracy, to bring everything in order, prepare the first listings, take their pictures, write their descriptions and get to the point where you are one step away from launching.

Going live 

And then it happens, the time comes, I still remember the moment, 5 minutes to midnight on September 30 Two Lilies Designs went live and my life changed beyond recognition. The dream is taking shape, the listings grow and statistics become a part of your everyday routine.

I remember  the first sale vividly! The excitement, the preparation of the item for shipment, the tracking of the package to make sure it reached its destination.
A wish for this soon upcoming year is to grow wings, customers, learn...learn...learn and improve :-)

Things will never be the same again! The best is yet to come !
